The light gunboat market was left open more over with too many unpromising designs.  Those who need a light weight package can look towards this support role.  The high Defensive Value ought to give it some life.  Dedicated to a support role the glaring weakness is it has no rear firing weapons.  The designers say it is to keep the pilots on their toes and not to get into fights of attrition but to use its speed to get out of harm’s way.

Sniper II

Remove the Meld Lasers and replace with Disintegrators.

143 pts.

This is quite a dangerous option.  It requires the Sniper II to get in fairly close, in range of torpedoes and missiles.  It doesn't do attrition well but it is fairly good against the Brood.

Sniper III

A similar refit but with EMP Beams. A refit deal done with the Sunrunners. The extra range and punch gives it a bit of an edge over Sniper II.
