I had to check the rules just to be sure because yeah, it is reminiscent of a tracking type name...
Directed/Terminal Homer [DTH] (drive 8 while remote, drive bumps up after terminal lock), and
Directed Homer [DXH] (remote all the time) are the more common tracking types easily confused with
Data Link Terminus [DLT] torps used by UNW.
Tactical Operations Center equipped ships scanning brood ships, drones, or ink pass a number of benefits to DLT torps tracking these scanned entities- like cutting the chance the torp loses tracking if the ship engages a jump pod by half, ignoring the range penalty for targeting drones that have been scanned, etc. Rules As Written, these perks are DLT exclusive.
Of all the types of torps that need a distinctive counter, DLT's
only require distinction when Mk.10 armed, non-UNW ships are in a battle with UNW units where scanning is going on and thus can probably just be left out altogether to save space but I thought I'd mention it for the sake of completeness since you asked. It's a bit of a
...on my part.
Of the printed ships that carry the enhanced sensor DLT's (all 'NW' variants/refits):
Mk.10
x15: Hornet
x10: Betafortress, Equalizer, Firebat, Javelin, Praying Mantis, Rattler
x4: Salamander, Thunder Bird
x1: Teal Hawk
Mk30
x 4: Epping
...So mostly just Mk.10's but just to complicate things further- any torpedo type, in theory, can be DLT if UNW refits other ships, so if it were up to me, I'd just scrap the superfluous DLT distinction altogether and let any torp take advantage of TOC scanning for simplicity's sake.
[Once the (fictional) Silent Death 'Star Citizen Clone' funding breaks Kickstarter records, the game code can handle the minutia of whether or not a torp's electronics kit can sync with TOC scans]
