  And so it Begins....

Yes. We're back. And we've made quite the discovery during our unwanted working website hiatus... over a decade ago a set of ship masters were made for the then-planned publication of Sheldon Greaves's follow-on to his sterling House book Q'Raj Void Protectorate. The working title was Corridian Crisis, a campaign book chronicling the ferocious war raging between House Colos and the Q'raj Void Protectorate in the first decades of the post-Night Brood Invasion period.

Like the previous new supplements, Corridian Crisis was intended to introduce some new ship minis, and we'd commissions Allan Wolf of Reviresco and Armorcast infamy to produce the masters based upon my mad scratchings on a sketch pad. Allan produced accordingly, and we were all looking forward to yet more new ships for the Silent Death canon, and more mayhem on the game table for everyone accordingly.

Alas, events beyond our control unfolded, ICE was no more, and the ship masters were thought lost somewhere between Olympia and Ontario. As fate would have it, the masters were never actually sent due to a series of miscommunications and wrong assumptions all around. Everyone thought that they were somewhere else. Well, we just recently discovered that they weren't lost, just packed away in a box and forgotten in Allan's workshop, never sent due to non-payment for services rendered waaaay back in he day.

So now it seems we have a golden opportunity to release Corridian Crisis and the new ships along with it once we swing the funding to pay that nice man Allan for his hard work so long ago! And that is what we fully intend to do, as we want these models in production, and the sooner the better, we all say!

As the new year begins, we'll be launching a crowd funding effort to generate the funds for Corridian Crisis and the new ships, which will be manufactured in resin, as all but one of them are warhounds, and the Totenkopf is a rather hefty beast at that, being done according to my original sketches which portray the Totenkopf as a flying armored barge covered in cannon turrets possessing all of the grace and subtlety of a lead brick to the face!

The ships are all participants and significant ones too in Corridian Crisis. The campaign is a brutal affair, with Colos pushing hard to seize Q'raji real estate and the Q'rajis having all of the sense of cooperation with Colos's territorial ambitions of a rabid wolverine on amphetamines.

Mine warfare and platforms, viciously prosecuted deep penetration raids into Q'raji territory by Colosian warhound squadrons seeking to do as much damage as possible, fanatical Q'raji counterattacks, and all of the usual massive casualties and widespread property damage that accompany any such disagreements between Colosians and Q'rajis feature in this campaign book. A new Colosian heavy gunboat - the Guillotine- makes its debut, a bigger, nastier cousin to the Predator.

Optimized for butchering commercial shipping so important to the Q'raj Void Protectorate, the Guillotine packs no less than five Ion Rams as its primary armament. FTL capable and fast for its size, the Guillotine is designed for independent raiding of your shipping lanes, usually traveling in wolf packs of 3 to 5 vessels. Bad as that news is, the Colosians also roll out their new Strumovik class fast attack frigate, a 6,000 ton menace designed to run down and slaughter anyone not fast enough to run away, or strong enough to fend off the new Colosian menace to society.

The Q'raj Void Protectorate is not idle on the new ship front in Corridian Crisis. The QVP introduces the Sekhmet class fast attack corvette, a frightfully swift attack corvette packing multiple Evil Eye proton arc projectors as its main armament, backed up by multiple Repeating Blasters as the Sekhmet's primary anti-fighter weaponry.

The newly deployed Homme Industries Polecat class military transport and its mine warfare refit complete the Q'raji Void Protectorate's response to the infidel Colosian invaders.

So. Here's a teaser shot of what we recovered from the inscrutable void of The Backnet to give us a real opportunity to take a solid step forward in bringing Silent Death fully back to the masses:

Am i the first user?  I've loved this game for years!  Please keep it going. I really hope to see some more setting content.  This system deserves to be bigger than Battletech in my opinion.  It would be great if it got the same treatment with fiction and campaign ideas!  Good luck to Metal Xpress.  I'm super busy with life right now but i hope to come back to this site and to the game when i get a chance.
