The light gunboat market was left open more over with too many unpromising designs. Those who need a light weight package can look towards this support role. The high Defensive Value ought to give it some life. Dedicated to a support role the glaring weakness is it has no rear firing weapons. The designers say it is to keep the pilots on their toes and not to get into fights of attrition but to use its speed to get out of harm’s way.
Sniper II
Remove the Meld Lasers and replace with Disintegrators.
143 pts.
This is quite a dangerous option. It requires the Sniper II to get in fairly close, in range of torpedoes and missiles. It doesn't do attrition well but it is fairly good against the Brood.
Sniper III
A similar refit but with EMP Beams. A refit deal done with the Sunrunners. The extra range and punch gives it a bit of an edge over Sniper II.

The Sentry was looking a bit tired. Some liked the concept. However, making it a freighter support vessel had a price tag. The Guardian boasts some durability. For a big bird the Guardian is fairly pokey. It can take some punishment but the trick is to keep it at arms length and let the 3 Twin Meld Lasers do the job. Disintegrators were tested as an alternative weapon load but the Guardian lost its synergy.

It was supposed to have been a low maintenance project but the somewhere it spiralled a bit.
2 – Ktank, good investment

Yes back on the old site, some time ago, we play tested the idea of to hit buffs for the Brood.
If I can remember I think we based it on criticals.
For each critical a ship had it could give another ship +1 to hit equal in range to the #criticals and likewise receive that many bonuses from any other ship.
This forces the gammas to 'swarm' to be more effective. Allowing them to collectively receive bonuses to hit.
Betas could swarm with Alphas to buff their to hit rolls up by lots. And that means the Monarch gunboat becomes a really important support vessel!
This creates swarms with bonuses and means the terrans must try and split them up. In our play test it worked really well.

Anyone who knows what font to use for ship names on ship sheets? |

I am in the process of making a custom made card board box to fill with some custom cut out foam and store all miniatures in. But the card board box needs to look presentable. I intend to put the images of the ships and the ships names on the box, and would like to use the same font as the font that is used on the ship sheets - i.e. the capital letters where the horizontal bar in the letter 'A' is a downwards pointing triangle.
Do anyone know of a font that resembles this?
Apart from the 'star wars' font, which is a bit different, and a last resort.
Any suggestions to other fonts is also greatly appreciated, as I have some other ship sheets I would like to try and make look pretty.
Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

So - the minatures that are for sale here through the website.
Are those prices for single ships with a stand? Do they come painted as shown, or are they blanks?
Also are they the pewter miniatures or the plastic IM ones? (I actually don't have a preference for either or...they are all awesome!)
